Dakar, the capital of Senegal, probably isn’t tops on your list of travel destinations, but it should be. It plays an essential role in our American history - the jumping off point for most of the African slave trade. A week there showed me a beautiful country, full of delightful folks, delicious food, and incredible wildlife.
