The Kumano Kodo
The Kumano Kodo is a 1,000 year old pilgrimage, starting outside the city of Osaka and marching towards the sea. Small shrines are scattered every half a mile as you trek through the bamboo forests, and over rolling hills. The trip was book ended with time in Osaka - a bustling city that is every bit the urban environment of Tokyo.
